CEE WHY

North London DJ/Producer Cee Why has been banging out beats for donkeys. Years that is. Not actual Mules! A trained drummer from the age of 8, he moved on to DJing at 13, and some few thousand records later arrived his first sampler. His formative years were spent playing at Funk jams in North London before going on to work as an engineer at Berwick Street Sound Studios in London and Boulevard Sound in Hollywood, CA. As a member of the Loose Cannon collective played regular DJ slots and leant his production skills to a number of projects across different musical genres. It wasn't long before Cee Why had a degree in Music Production under his belt after studying at Londons University Of Westminister where he met Jehst in 1999. Shortly after graduating he released his debut 12" single on YNR, the adrenaline fuelled 'Water Torture' (feat. Jehst and Tommy Evans) in 2001, which featured on the soundtrack to British blockbuster movie Kidulthood in 2006. The equally rugged B-side 'The Great Escape' (feat. Universal Soldiers) later appeared on the YNR compilation album 'Young N Restless Vol. 1, along with additional productions 'The Tear Down' by Dupa Styles (Yungun & Devise), 'Stay Focussed' by Usmaan feat. Klashnekoff and the classic posse cut (and lead single from the album) 'Seein Red' (feat. Farma G, Jehst, Skriblah and Sundragon) Subsequent production credits include contributions to Jehst's 'Falling Down' album, Tommy Evans 'The Turbulent Times Of...' and 'New Year's Revolutions' albums and a string of remixes including The Infadels 'Leave Your Body' which won him mainstream appraisal and airplay from the legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel (R.I.P) and helped the band secure their contract with Wall Of Sound. In 2009 Cee Why introduced the world to YNR young-blood Jyager, handling 100 percent of the production duties on his debut album 'Encrypted Scriptures'. Jyager 'Encrypted Scriptures' is out now on YNR Productions. myspace.com/ceewhymusic
